WELCOME TO FALCON NEST

A family operated business, Falcon Nest Vineyard & Winery is located in the Paso Robles viticulture appellation in the Central Coast of California. The total holding consistsof 149 acres of prime viticulture land, of which 55 acres are planted, in grapevines.

Importance is placed on meticulous vineyard management. Our vineyards are planted from East to West direction to maximize exposure to the sun to achieve maximum ripeness. Vines are managed to produce small yields, small berries and intense flavors to make wines of distinction.

Rolling hills of our estate and the different variety of soil are ideally suited to grow Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Petit Verdot, Zinfandel and other varieties. Additional varieties are currently being propagated on a trial basis to select the right variety and the right clone suited to the soil.

The combination of different microclimates and soil which ranges from sandy, rocky sandy, clay loam and so many other types produces some of the finest grapes to craft our wines.

Only select grapes are harvested by hand to control quality. The grapes are fermented in small lots of 500 to 3,000 gallons. Secondary, malolactic fermentation is done in 59 gallon French Oak barrels from various cooperages and aged for one year sur lie, prior to first racking. The wine continues aging in French oak barrels prior to filtering and bottling. The bottled wine is released 60 days after bottling.

ZINFANDEL 2003

Dark in color with a generous dose of blackberry, blueberry and wild berries.

Elegant style with supple tannin and long finish.

Production is 1,286 cases.

SYRAH 2003

Elegant and complex, Rhone style, shows balance with blackberry, toasted licorice and coffee,

with smooth tannin finish. To be enjoyed now or cellared for 5 to 10 years.

Limited production of 776 cases.

CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2003

Dark and rich with dark fruit, built around red currant, black tartarian and blackberry,

reveals supple tannin and a great lingering fruit to the finish.

Drink Production is 1,684 cases.
